Parker Viking Bands

 Welcome to the Parker Band web page.  This will be a work in progress as we add a variety of content for your perusal. 

The goal of the Parker Bands is to provide a comprehensive high school music experience for each student through the detailed preparation of music for performance as well as promote school spirit by supporting of a variety of school activities.

The Parker Band program is an active facet of the gem that is Parker High School.  There are three concert organizations: Concert Band-for freshmen only, Symphonic Band-grades 10-12 and the Wind Ensemble-grades 10-12 by audition only.  We also feature a Jazz Ensemble.  These ensembles perform several concerts throughout the school year.

Each year Band students are given the opportunity to take part in the District Solo and Ensemble Festival sponsored by the Wisconsin School Music Association. 

Our Marching Band provides entertainment at all home football games and participates in community activities such as the Laborfest Parade, Homecoming Parade and Memorial Day Parade each year.

The Viking Pep Band helps foster school spirit as well as entertain at select Boys and Girls basketball games as well as Janesville Bluebirds hockey games.

The entire cost of the trip is $75,000. The Band Parents Boosters have raised some of this money already through the Annual Chili Suppers and other fundraisers. There are more fundraisers to come.

We are also looking for donations from corporate sponsors to help defray the costs of the trip, in order to make the trip more affordable for the band members.
