Academic Eligibility

Academic eligibility guidelines apply to athletes and students participating in a sport or co-curricular activity in which competition takes place prior to the beginning of the school year. If a student received one failing grade in the preceding fourth grading period, the ineligibility period shall be 7 consecutive calendar days beginning with the earliest allowed competition in that sport.  The ineligibility period for a student receiving more than one failing grade in the latest grade-reporting or academic evaluation period shall be the lesser of: (1) 21 consecutive calendar days beginning with the date of earliest allowed competition or (2) one-third of the maximum number of competitions allowed in that sport or activity rounded up if one-third results in a fraction).

For sports in which the first date of earliest competition takes place after school starts, the regular Co-Curricular Code Ineligibility rules apply.
