The maximum number of credits which apply to rank point total can be no more than 7.0 per year including Physical Education.

Make-up credits may be earned through summer school. For off-campus, correspondence, or study/travel programs, all credits must be approved with a maximum allowance of 2.0 credits. No rank points will be awarded for these programs. More than 2 credits may be approved as part of the Youth Options program, which allows high school student's to take college/technical school courses for credit. See your counselor for furthor information about this program. Driver Education is a non-credit course and earns no rank points.

Service Aides assist teachers, other staff members or students. No credit is given and no rank points are awarded toward graduation for this activity.

Beginning with the class of 2004, students must earn a total of 22.5 credits. A course that meets five days a week for one semester is awarded .5 credits. A student must carry and pass five full time courses plus physical education/health each semester.

* Health credits must be taken at the High School. Middle School health will no longer fulfill this requirement. A .25 health credit will be obtained in conjunction with each of the 9th and 11th grade physical education classes.

Class rank is determined by tghe total number of rank points accumulated. All courses except peer assistanting are used to calculate rante points.

Grade point is determined by the number of rank points earned divided by the number of credits earned.

Academic Recognition

The Academic Recognition Program honors students who have performed at a high level academically. The criteria for a student to be included in the Academic Recognition Program is based on earning a 3.50 for higher grade point average.

Students will wearn the following awards based on the number of years they qualify for academic recognition.

2nd Year Academic Letter

3rd Year Letter Insert

4th Year Medal
